MAYAN is a Lisbon-born DJ and sound artist whose work moves between hypnotic techno, groove and psychedelic textures, creating sets that exist somewhere between ritual and club.
Her relationship with music began in a creative environment, where she understood sound early on as a tool for connection. This foundation led her to become part of the Portuguese underground scene and to join collectives such as ELA, where she developed her early path within the circuit.
Her recent evolution places her between Lisbon and Berlin, where she has performed in clubs such as Renate, Golden Gate and Ritter Butzke, absorbing the energy of both scenes and refining a distinctive sonic identity.
Alongside her club work, she has developed a more experimental and academic line, studying sound design at Funkhaus Berlin and exploring immersive sound practices. This research also takes form in FRESCA, her curatorial platform focused on experiences that combine music, visual art and perception.
Her trajectory also includes collaborations with initiatives such as female:pressure and Keychange, actively contributing to a more diverse and inclusive electronic music scene.
Between the dancefloor and sonic research, MAYAN approaches each set as a space for transformation, where music becomes a shared and immersive experience.
