DJ Gigola is a music producer and artist who traverses along the borders of Techno, Pop, and Experimental. Gigolo means Playboy, but the word originally derives from the ancient French “Gigole” which used to mean Dancing Woman. This makes DJ Gigola both, a dancing woman and a playboy. A Berlin native, her selections are driven by the rhythmic underbelly of this city’s musical heritage. As a teenager, she started exploring Berlin’s club scene and found a home in rave culture. When not raving in dusty basements, Gigola was reading books, writing poems and browsing through endless online photo and fashion archives.
